Honeymoon

Buckskin Manor cottage Because grad school was in session for Huyen when we got married, we decided to delay our "real" honeymoon trip and take a smaller one immediately following our wedding. The first honeymoon was at the Buckskin Manor cottage in Purcellville, VA. We really enjoyed this nice, quiet B&B out in the farmland of Loudoun County. The breakfasts were incredibly good (and they gladly accomodated for Ryan's vegetarian needs). We certainly recommend them if you're considering a stay in area. Some pictures of our trip are available.

Our original plan was to take our "real" honeymoon in December, but with the current debacle, Ryan's mild fear of flying was amplified a bit. So, instead, we'll be spending some time in New York (State, not City). We're going to stay at night at Geneva on the Lake, volunteer at the Farm Sanctuary for a day, go to Ithica (to eat at Moosewood, among other things), possibly meet up with Nava Atlas, and spend four days and three nights in Watkins Glen at the Red House Country Inn. It's no island vacation in December, but it should be a lot of fun and serve as a nice escape.

So when will our "real" honeymoon be and where? We're not sure when, but we're still planning on the island of Tortola (the British Virgin Islands' main island) at the Turtle Dove Lodge.

Most people don't take a "second honeymoon" until several years into their marriage... perhaps we'll be the first couple to take three honeymoons in one year! :)
