February 22, 2001... It appears that two new Magic Sam collections will be released soon. The Essential Magic Sam: The Cobra and Chief Records is due on February 27, 2001 on Varese. With A Feeling!-1957-67-Cobra is due out on March 13, 2001 on the UK-based Westside label. No track listings are available for either album.
December 1, 1999... The beta version of the site is up, as scheduled, on today, the 30th Anniversary of Magic Sam's tragic death. It's amazing -- he was only 32 and he passed away from a heart attack, right on the verge of mainstream recognition. Magic Sam is a personal favorite bluesman of mine, so I hope that this site will do his memory justice.
