Unexpected Expenses

Hi there. Remember me? I'm the one that used to post in this blog more than just links.

The last couple of weeks have been pretty rough... lots of unexpected expenses have cropped up. Huyen's transmission is going, which means we're going to have to replace it a little sooner than expected. Then, today, I was in a small car accident, causing enough damage to my passenger side door (about $2200 worth) that I may have to end up getting rid of it, too, depending on what happens with insurance. Nothing puts a hurting on your expenses like having to buy two cars at the same time.

The accident--my first--was my fault, but fortunately no one was hurt (it was a very low-speed accident). But like I said, the damage to my car was kind of nasty since the Kia Sephia isn't exactly highly rated in terms of side impact collisions (pictures coming to Flickr soon). The other guy was driving a Volvo and the only damage to his car was his license plate ending up in my door.

I'm glad it's the weekend.

Oh man. I definitely feel your pain. Though we didn't have to replace both cars at the same time, it was still a burden to have to replace mine because of an accident, especially when there was nothing really wrong with the way it was running or anything like that. I hope you guys will be O.K. and that the Kia will survive.
