Don't besmirch the birch

It was so nice coming in late this morning, even if it was only an hour. And even if it was because I needed to vote in local elections and get a tetanus shot because I scraped my arm on some barbed wire this weekend. Or was it Barb Wire? I can't remember.

Tonight: visiting Huyen's hospital, dinner at Myanmar, and bowling with the Luscious One.

Had a good weekend working outside and doing things around the house. Spent much of Saturday doing the biannual pig barn cleaning at the farm and had so much dust on me that it was still showing up on my Q-tips one day and two showers later. There was a great vegan potlock picnic with the folks from The Fund for Animals afterward. Where else would people talk about the disgusting things that go on behind slaughterhouse walls while eating lunch?

We bought a Young's Birch for our front yard, replacing the fungus-filled tree we had removed last week.

And to those of you that noticed the site was down earlier today, yes, that's three times in a month.

Myanmar is great! I'm glad to see someone else's appreciation for it. It's the best Burmese in the DC area (out of the handful that exist). My dad was born in Burma, and he gave it his seal of approval.

The purple lighting and America items on the menu probably don't help their business though!
