twist of fait accomplis
Coming into work yesterday was a bit odd... we had to be in for an 8am meeting, which is the time I usually roll out of bed. But even weirder was coming into the office and having air conditioning. You see, ours has been off all weekend and it got a bit... stuffy.
The aforementioned leak appeared to be fixed by replacing the filter late Friday night, so we went to bed confident everything would be OK. I set the alarm for 7am Saturday, though, just to make sure everything was alright. I'm glad I did, because the water was a-flowin' and one of my boxes of records had gotten quite wet. Miraculously, the records themselves stayed dry, so I decided to not test my good luck and just shut the air off for the time being.
The remainder of the weekend was a tad hot. With heat indices reaching 107, we managed to stay cool (um, how about "alive") by keeping fans going and the shades closed. I was this close to recreating a Biz Stone original, though.
Fortunately, it was just a matter of a clogged pipe. It still cost us some dough to get fixed, but it could have been a lot worse. Lesson learned: change those 55 cent filters every month.
