Updates on the Sifrit Case

A few updates to report...

First of all, you'll notice that the right menu has a link to the "Sifrit" category. This was to accomodate the many people searching for information about the case that wind up here.

SunSpot.net is reporting that Benjamin Sifrit's lawyer has formally requested the tape of the 911 call made from the Sifrits' rented condominium the night of the murders. The public defender has also requested access to the Sifrits' laptop in order to lookover the e-mails.

Robert passed along this AP wire piece. Apparently, the Sifrits pulled a gun on a nightclub employee as they tried to break into an ATM a few days after the murders. Erika Sifrit allegedly told the man, "I will kill you."

As a born and bred Marylander who spent the first 25 years of my life going to Ocean City each summer (now I'm 51), when I saw the Sifrit link I was curious about it. I agree that it's quite a strange case and made even more strange by some of the news reports. But what is your interest in it? I'm just curious. Is it Erika? I saw some news on TV showing her in earlier years and it's quite difficult to believe this is the same girl. Just wondering . . .

I went to the same small college as Erika did, graduating a couple years ahead of her. I didn't know her, but have a cursory interest in the story as an alumnus.

However, the reason the Sifrit blog entries are on a separate page of my site is because so many people were coming to my site looking for information that I figured putting it all in one place would be the most convenient.

It is an interesting, case, though...

I played basketball with Erika (Grace) Sifrit so I'm very interested in this case. I think it's cool that there's a site to read only about this case. I, too, can't believe she was capable of this.

This is a girl gone wrong. She was raised to know right from wrong. Is she guilty, You bet she is. Will Mommy and Daddy's money buy her out of trouble ? Hope not, if so she couldn't move far enough away to suit the neighbors who will have to lock their doors in daylight. Shame on her for her toatal lack of regaurd for human life. She's just a spoiled brat.

Unbelievable...I went to High School with Benjamin (BJ) in Texas. Really nice kid, cool, smart, totally normal, never would have guessed in a million years. If I had to guess, the military screwed the kid up in the head.
