Laze's Essentials

Laze's Essentials was originally just a small page listing software and a couple of web sites that I used on a regular basis. Nothing major—in fact, it was more of a reference for myself than something for the "outside world." Then Opera listed me on their links page and put me in their default bookmark file. At one point, I was getting more hits a day on this page than any other on my site! On top of that, friends and co-workers started using my page as a reference and I started receiving suggestions from other random users and shareware authors about products I should try. Strange the way things work.

In 1999, I decided to expand the Essentials bit by bit and capitalize on its popularity. I separated out web sites and added sections for music, movies, shopping, and "lifestyle." At this point, I've decided to ditch the music and movies sections (see the UA Journal if you're really curious what I list as "essential") as well as the "lifestyle" section (it really drifted too far from this section's original goal). In addition, I've combined the web sites back in with the software, resulting in two sections:

The best utility software, web sites, and tools. This is what started it all and I still think it's a great resource.
