After a disappointing loss to Clemson in last year's Phallus Bowl and an almost undefeated season (15-1), Africa came back this year ready to play. Starting off with a record 68-0 win over Portland to open the season, Africa had their first undefeated season in the franchise's history.

This season we wished a fond farewell to former Wildebeasts that are now pursuing their football careers elsewhere: Michael Hunter, Alvin O'Brien, Mike Sachs, and James Goodfoot. We also said goodbye to a handful of Wildebeasts that retired: Kelby Unger, Dave Black, Mark Putnam, Phil Taylor, Gerald Johnson, and Kerry Pendall.

In their place, we welcomed a new group of Wildebeasts that will help us back to the Phallus Bowl again this year: Morgan McGwire, Yuri Love, Thorpe Pirtle, Burnell Westall, Flip Lesch, Bernie Renfrow, Keith Triple, Morgan Saab, and Rex Deiss.

The Wildebeasts sent a record 15 players to the Pro Bowl's American Conference team, which will be coached by Coach of the Year Robyan Thormichael.
